A weekend retreat with Bill Cumming and Katie Abbott
The only way that I can write the description for this weekend is personally.
I met Bill way back in 2009 in New York City, riddled with insecurity but also open to the adventure of life.
Bill first became a mentor and later a very dear and treasured friend.
There are no words adequate to describe this meeting and the impact it has had on my life.
In the Sufi tradition there is a word known as Adab. Adab points to the nobility of the soul, the courtesy in which we must live the heart’s path, right doing, decency, humility, dignity, grace, loving kindness.
It is not only a foundation, it is the backbone and primary requisite for a journey of truth, rigour and devotion.
This very special weekend is an opportunity to experience this lived quality of integrity. To embed it so deeply into your being, that every opportunity and moment in your life has the possibility of being transformed by it.
Bill is one of life’s treasures. Shining out from under the rubble and the debris of a life and a world that appears to have forgotten the essential elegance of the soul, is this light.
Simple, humble and quite possibly the one redeeming quality we have left.
If there is anything that I recommend you doing, and if there is anyone I recommend you meeting it is Bill.
My life would be half of what it is today without him. Perhaps, and quite possibly, less than that.
And it is the greatest honour and the greatest delight to welcome him to London to meet with you all.
